The initial idea for my Pride Pastries was born in 2017 when I was craving some lightheartedness. My work is almost always about suffering and pain, and with the LGBTQ community facing such hardship in recent years, I felt it was time for something wholesome. For Pride Month 2023, I revamped the initial doodles into flushed out poster designs that were inspired by 1920s rubber hose animations and vintage aesthetics. These little treats are a tribute to the queer community, and to the love and joy that is integral to the queer experience.
